Gravity Omutujju blasts Bobi Wine about the government cash allocated for Artists.
Gravity didn't have nice words for Bobi Wine who poked holes in the budget the government allocated to supporting the arts industry.
Bobi Wine, who was also misinformed about the budget, wondered why the government was giving money to artistes when there were more urgent projects like the construction of hospitals.
"There are enough hospitals. Constructing many hospitals makes it look like you want more people to fall sick," said Omutujju.
"You don't have to construct them. You just have to have faith and believe people don't have to fall sick. They should give us the money to buy cars and enjoy."
When he was told that his views contradicted those of Bobi Wine who wanted the money to be used to construct hospitals, he said: "Bobi Wine is rich. Why can't he use some of his money to construct a hospital people can use? He is a very rich man. Let him use his money... Let him first construct a hospital in his home area, even if a small one; then he can come to advise us."
The Ministry of Finance committed Shs13 billion that will go towards supporting artists under the Microfinance Support Centre.
The funds will be used for capitalisation of the performing artistes’ SACCO to enable them to provide financial services to stakeholders in the creative industry as well as support the development of structures for the creative industry and artistes.
Adding on, during the interview, Gravity Omutujju said that Wine, Bebe Cool, and Jose Chameleone are no longer the big three. He said the new big three are him, King Saha, and Fik Fameica.
