Legendary Singer Ragga Dee warns artists against redoing his music without knowledge.
One of the legendary singer in the Ugandan music industry Ragga Dee has come out and warned rising artists against redoing his music without consent stating that they risk financial penalties that will leave them broke for the rest of their lives.
He passed this stern warning saying, if he ever gets someone re-doing his music without seeking permission he will face the law and will have to pay heavily for committing a copyright infringement case.
Ragga Dee spoke up as he addressed singer Lil Pazo’s saga in which he was asked to pay a hefty sum of shs300m for redoing the late Hon. Kato Lubwama’s “Kilabe Ebiiso” song without authorization.
He said Lil Pazo’s punishment is only just the start noting that several other youngsters will be slapped with similar charges if they continue to behave in a manner that the ‘Enkudi’ singer did.
He added on by advising all artists who cared to listen to desist from such habits saying they are not good before he added how they are bound to land several of them in trouble.
He advised new breed of artists to work so hard and compose educative music, with inspiring storylines rather than music that is full of vulgar lyrics.
